A while ago I wrote about wrapping with fabric. Better yet, wrap your gift with other gifts. We went to a 1 year old's b-day party today and I decided to try it out. I filled a Dipees and Wipees diaper bag with feeding bowls and utensils. Then I wrapped it with a strip of grosgrain ribbon saved from a past gift. I made a tag from some card stock and marker and we were ready to go.
For baby showers, the gift can be wrapped in a receiving blanket.
